Walk like an Egyptian
Yesterday, Cayden wanted to make a headpiece that in his words made him "look like he was from Egypt." Apparently, he has seen illustrated Bible stories. Anyway with some help from mom he created this attractive head covering. I suggested that we take his picture, to which he quickly responded..."Can you put it on the blog?" So after some photoshop fun we came up with the image above. Cayden really liked it.

Happy Mother's Day

This picture sums up the experience of motherhood for Erica. She sat down on the couch to relax and let her feet soak in some bath oils. That did not last 30 sec. before Cooper wanted in on the action and of course Cutter had to follow suit. Erica lives each day as what a friend of ours described as a Opossum mom (her offspring always hanging on to her). Rare is a moment of quiet and solitude. The kids just love to be involved in whatever mom is doing. With her entourage following her every move Erica still manages to get more done than me on any given day. So Happy Mother's day Erica, thanks for being a great mom. Cayden, Cutter and Cooper couldn't be more blessed.
----------------------------------
To my mom - Happy Mother's day to you. I know that I don't communicate it near enough but I love you and am grateful that you are my mom. Your constant encouragement and prayers are still powerful even though I am "all grown up." God has blessed me in so many ways...one of the greatest is having you as my mom.
----------------------------------
To Retta (my mother-in-law) - Since there is not "Mother-In-Law" day I thought I would use today to say thanks for being a great mom-in-law. All of the classic mother-in-law jokes don't apply to you. You have welcomed me into your family from day one and I am grateful.

Happy Mother's Day to these three moms in my life.

Mexican Food & Med Students
Tonight is fajita night at the Meyer house. It has become a regular around here. A meal that we like to cook and that we like to share.Jonathan has also become a regular around here. He is a 4th year medical student that we have had the opportunity to get to know for the past two years, although it feels like we've known him much longer. Jonathan has a unique talent for smelling fajitas on our grill from just about anywhere in Central Texas. He typically rolls in somewhere between 6:00 and 7:00 pm- right about supper time. He graciously eats whatever we chose to cook that night but especially enjoys fajita night. So, tonight we get ready to say good-bye to Jonathan as he will continue his training elsewhere starting in June.
Jonathan has been a great friend to our entire family. Cayden almost considers him as an equal and calls to invite him over to play. He is like the big brother Cayden never got to and never will get to have! Cutter could take him or leave him for a long time but within the past few months has gotten pretty fond of Jonathan and wants to sit beside him at meal time or on the couch. Cooper has always had a crush on Jonathan and still holds out the hope that he will wait for her and some day they will be married.
A few weeks ago we were spending a typical evening at home with Jonathan hanging out with us entertaining our kids and I walked outside to find them all sitting on his motorcycle.
Fajita night will not be the same without him!
(Ladies, did I mention that he's single????)
