RR Express

We went to watch a Round Rock Express game with a group from church last night. Cayden spent the night with a friend so it was an unusual night with just the twins all crammed in Scott's little, old Jeep. We sat on the Berm (grass) and Cutter kept asking if we could go sit in the chairs!

Cooper had fun rolling down the hill with all the big kids and Cutter found a new friend. God bless Steve for listening to Cutter the ENTIRE game and giving me a break!

DAD

Dad, on this Father's Day there is so much that I want to say, but none of my words seem to fulfill the task. I am grateful for all that you have done for me throughout my life. I can recall countless sacrifices that you made for us...and I am sure there are twice as many that I never knew. You have always been a man of gentleness and patience. You never took a strong-armed approach with us, even though we deserved it. You have always been the encourager from the sideline. I know you always wrestled with what you believed to be your short comings as a dad...but all we I can remember are your victories. Most of all you shared your faith.
Thanks for being my DAD.
Happy Father's Day
I Love You,
Scott

Officially A First Grader

Yep, it's official. Cayden has passed Kindergarten and will be in the first grade next year. We are very proud of him for getting perfect attendance. At the end of the year it became a real serious goal for him to make it. He did not want to miss any school. (We won't mention the fact that he had something like 12 tardies on the year!)
Cayden and his good buddy that he met in his class this year. They are like night and day opposites and that's probably why they like each other so much. (Although for the K-1 awards day they accidentally dressed alike)
Showing off his accelerated reader medal

Early in the year someone told him that he would get a trophy for perfect attendance. That was not exactly true. They mention it but don't make a big deal about it like we do in Salado. The kid wanted a trophy and we thought he deserved one. Being a coach we have access to lots of trophy guys so thank you Norman for getting this one done so quickly! (I know, we are dorks for getting it but like a teacher I work with said, "Heck, get him a trophy just for being your kid. Who cares what it's for.")

First year student with first year teacher. I think everyone had a great year and learned a lot!

Getting his certificates from his teacher, Ms. Kelley, at the kindergarten graduation.

Camping In

Jonathan stayed with us for several nights after his things were moved out of his apartment. Here he is being a trooper hanging out in the tent with the kids. If Cooper looks a little shy that's because Jonathan is her "boyfriend."

Memorial Day II

Cayden fishing with Dr. Lurry- what patience he had (Lurry that is).
Actually Cayden lasted a really long time. We were both surprised.
Cayden "helping" me paddle the canoe full of kids.

Cutter and his buddy Mason just swimming and talking like guys do.
At one point Mason was telling him something and Cutter said, "Hold on. Let me swim over there so I can talk to you."

Cutter and his fish- he didn't like them quite as much as his sister

Emma, Coop & Cutter with new intern Joel earning brownie points (it was his first weekend in town and he was really sucking up!)

Thanks again to the Leavelle's for a great Memorial Day. It was like a vacation without leaving Bell County!

Good-Bye Jonathan

It was a sad day for the Meyer family today as we lost our dear friend Jonathan to Mississippi. The kids don't actually realize that he is gone for good yet and I hate that they are learning at such a young age to say good-bye to so many dear friends.
Jonathan, you will be missed although we will now have left-overs! (We are hoping that all the free meals will pay off some day in the form of free medical advice and prescriptions!) You were more like a really old son or a really young, younger brother. Thank you for always being comfortable dropping in on us like family. We wish you the best of luck in all you do and pray God's blessings on you. We will think of you each time we look at your plant.
Do good in Mississippi and know you always have a home in Temple.
