Field Day

That recent cheer of the crowd and thrill of competition you sensed coming from central Texas was the product of the Thorton Elementary's annual FIELD DAY. (Think X-games just safer) This year was cool because the Army showed up to help. Soldiers from Fort Hood came over to run each of the game stations and they did a great job. Here are a couple of pics of Cayden in the various competitions.

Here Come's the Bride

Cooper LOVES to play dress up. One of her favorite outfits is a princess dress that looks more like a wedding dress to me. In this pic she is wearing the veil part of the outfit. Every time I see here in this my mind races toward the day that she will be wearing one for real. Oh my!!!

Zoo Day!

Cayden has a field trip to the zoo today. It is hard to believe that his 1st grade year is almost over.

You notice he took his camera with him, maybe we will post some of his nature photography.

DAD

Dad, on this Father's Day there is so much that I want to say, but none of my words seem to fulfill the task. I am grateful for all that you have done for me throughout my life. I can recall countless sacrifices that you made for us...and I am sure there are twice as many that I never knew. You have always been a man of gentleness and patience. You never took a strong-armed approach with us, even though we deserved it. You have always been the encourager from the sideline. I know you always wrestled with what you believed to be your short comings as a dad...but all we I can remember are your victories. Most of all you shared your faith.
Thanks for being my DAD.
Happy Father's Day
I Love You,
Scott

Walk like an Egyptian

Yesterday, Cayden wanted to make a headpiece that in his words made him "look like he was from Egypt." Apparently, he has seen illustrated Bible stories. Anyway with some help from mom he created this attractive head covering. I suggested that we take his picture, to which he quickly responded..."Can you put it on the blog?" So after some photoshop fun we came up with the image above. Cayden really liked it.

Happy Mother's Day

This picture sums up the experience of motherhood for Erica. She sat down on the couch to relax and let her feet soak in some bath oils. That did not last 30 sec. before Cooper wanted in on the action and of course Cutter had to follow suit. Erica lives each day as what a friend of ours described as a Opossum mom (her offspring always hanging on to her). Rare is a moment of quiet and solitude. The kids just love to be involved in whatever mom is doing. With her entourage following her every move Erica still manages to get more done than me on any given day. So Happy Mother's day Erica, thanks for being a great mom. Cayden, Cutter and Cooper couldn't be more blessed.
----------------------------------
To my mom - Happy Mother's day to you. I know that I don't communicate it near enough but I love you and am grateful that you are my mom. Your constant encouragement and prayers are still powerful even though I am "all grown up." God has blessed me in so many ways...one of the greatest is having you as my mom.
----------------------------------
To Retta (my mother-in-law) - Since there is not "Mother-In-Law" day I thought I would use today to say thanks for being a great mom-in-law. All of the classic mother-in-law jokes don't apply to you. You have welcomed me into your family from day one and I am grateful.
------------------------
Happy Mother's Day to these three moms in my life.

Jenga

Cayden and I have been playing Jenga lately. It is a fun hand-eye coordination game. At first, I thought I would go easy on him. Then he beat me five games straight. He's actually pretty good. No more mister nice guy!

Bend It Like Beckham

Cayden has done great this soccer season. He gets out on the field where he runs and plays hard. This pic is from this past Saturday's game. Cayden played really well and scored several goals.

Wheels!

The pic is a couple weeks old...but, here are the BIG BOY and BIG GIRL bikes that the twins are riding now (and the moment they first saw them.)

The other pictures are of their first trip on their new rides. I guess you don't really appreciate it unless you have twins but there was something really cool about two kids riding their bikes for the first
time, together!

Up on the Roof

Erica was preparing supper and left me in charge of the kids outside. This is the result.
Hey, they had fun.

Easter Find

This past Sunday we celebrated Easter at the home of Larry and Marie Matthews (an elder and his wife from church). The day was complete with great BBQ and an Easter Egg Hunt.

Twins Birthday

This past Saturday our twins turned 3. When asked what kind of cake they wanted, Cooper said "a frog" and Cutter said "blue." You can see the creativity of Erica as she gave both kids exactly what they wanted. They were thrilled.

Lions, Tigers, Bears...Oh My!

Last week our youth minister, Brandon Baker, and his family invited us to the Cameron Park Zoo in Waco, to celebrate the birthday of their son Mason. Here is a photo of Cayden checking out the tiger habitat. The Harding hat is courtesy of Cayden's Searcy friend Hayden Koch.

Spidey-Web

A toy Cayden received recently is a Spider Man web blaster. You can see he thought it was pretty cool and figured out quickly how to use it.

mmm, mmm, good!

Snow Day!

Last Friday we woke up to find a small layer of snow on the ground. Cayden made good use of it before school.

MM...MM...GOOD

I know it has been a while since our last post, so I am posting this recent pic of Cooper. I love her expression and all of the chocolate on her face. I remember the days when a bad day could be cured with a good fudgesicle!

Have a Great Day!
